As a Community Business seed funded by Southwark Council, The Greater London Authority, and DHLUP, LEX 2 is a sustainable space honouring the legacy of Victorian industrialist George Livesey, founder of the South London Gasworks.

in The London Borough of Southwark by pioneering innovative, community-driven projects right on our high street. As a black-led, community-focused organisation, we proudly introduce LEX 2 – an initiative that offers accessible workspace, community event spaces, enriching learning experiences, and vibrant cultural activities. Our commitment is unwavering; we’re shaping a future where everyone in our neighbourhood can thrive

Our mission at Livesey Exchange is to empower and uplift local residents. In our new home in Old Kent Road, LEX2, we are committed to providing a dynamic platform that encourages personal and collective development. Through partnerships with individuals, communities, and institutions, we strive to create a space where everyone can find their unique path to success. We believe in the power of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and community engagement as the driving force behind our mission.
Livesey Exchange Garages LEX 1 was a grassroots project initiated by Nicholas Okwulu who transformed 60 garages on the Ledbury Estate into workshops, studios and multidisciplinary spaces for local makers and creators.
